Introducing Confide

It Starts With A Question

We built Confide in a weekend because we kept coming back to a very basic question:

Have you ever wanted to post something on Facebook or Twitter, but didn't want the world to see it?

Confide is meant to be a place to share anonymous frustrations, joys, and pain that you don't feel comfortable linking to your public profile.  There's only one rule:  be nice.

Future Ideas

Some of our ideas for this include:

  • Confide Conquers Cancer -- family members very close to the evolyte team have lost the battle to cancer, and we've been affected tremendously by it.  If we would have had an outlet similar to this to express our pain, it might have made things easier.  In that regard, we're also helping Harley Helping Hands, a non-profit organization that positively impacts the lives of adults battling cancer, both financially and emotionally.
  • Organization -- a little organization may help manage the noise and help people use Confide more effectively.  We've thought about the following broad categories: Self, Lovers, Friends, Familly, Classmates, Coworkers, Strangers.
  • Post Secret -- if you've never heard of this little gem of a site, it allows anonymous users to send in post cards with their deepest and darkests secrets. It's awfully eye-opening and makes you realize how critical we all are of others.

We're all human.  Let's start acting like it.

Disclaimers

There are a few things to note.  Because we built this with a few hours of free time, there are many things that just aren't set up yet.  There is no categorization, it's not built to handle a large volume of traffic, there's no login or user accounts, and some of it may appear really basic.  In the startup world, this is called a Minimum Viable Product (MVP for short) and basically means it's the aboslute "minimum" functioning prototype of a potentially bigger project.

If people like this and start to use it, then we'll invest some further development time into the idea and the technology.  So don't be scared, no one will know that it's you.  But that also means there is a very high potential for spammers.

Lets keep this PG-13 please folks.  We hope you find it as therapeutic as we do :)
